About Us

NC Lights of Loss (NCLOL) is a 501©(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to support parents, grandparents, siblings, and other family members dealing with the death of a child at any age, for any reason.

There is no cost to become a member, as we are staffed entirely by volunteers and funded by donations from families, the community, and the general public—directly contributing to our website, printing, postage, and special event expenses.

Our Pillars for Healing

  • Choose

    Grief can feel like a dark and consuming place, but you can still choose to exist beyond it, deciding which types of healing activities work best for you. Each day will feel a little different, but the choice is always yours.

  • Connect

    Loneliness and the urge to isolate is often present, so it’s important to stay connected to your support system, allowing yourself to reach out and be reached by family and friends.

  • Communicate

    Remember that what traditionally worked may no longer give you the healing it once did. Resist denying or covering up your feelings, even when it may seem hard to ask others for help.
